Bosch Purion Display NEW for 2017

Bosch have released a new streamline version of the Intuvia head unit called the Purion display. It replaces the Bosch Intuvia and Nyon system and mounts where the remote control element on the lefthand handlebar is situated. More info...

Bosch Purion Ebike Display The new compact display is a combination of remote control and display. Positioned on the left of the handlebars, the display provides key information through a small, easy to read display. Its compactness and location make it ideal for extreme ePerformance bikes whose riders seek a display that is reduced to the essentials and well-protected.

All the main functions can be directly controlled: support level (Off, Eco, Tour, Sport, Turbo), switching on and off the eBike light, walk-assist, the current speed, the day trip and the total mileage of the bike, and the range, or how far the current charge level of the battery will last in mileage. A backlight in the display makes all information easy to read even in the dark.

We have Bosch Purion displays as a service upgrade at our Cyclelife Shoreham Electric Bike store in Shoreham by Sea Sussex BN436TE - Directions HERE.

The Purion is fitted to some of the top of the range models in the Haibike range for 2017 (available from January). This display replaces the existing bulkier Intuvia and Nyon systems and frees up your handlebars for alternative accessories. It also makes it less likely that you would damage your controls during a crash, so a better upgrade for more extreme off-road riding.

I have personally found the Purion particularly good for higher speed riding as the controls are not in your central line of sight and therefore you are less distracted by the changing speedometer. In other words it makes the ebike information element more subsidiary and there if you want it but not intrusive to your riding experience.

I am a big advocate of the Bosch Nyon system so my heart lies with the larger Nyon colour display and all it's geekery. If I was worried about a hairier off road ride I would probably just fit an Intuvia. But if you are more hardcore and enjoy your downhill or tight forest trails the Purion will offer a more compact method of eMTB control.
